compassionate rehabilitative care and beyond
Your Journey to Recovery Starts Right Here!
Our IOP and PHP are powerful programs to help you claim your life back.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) are both valuable treatment options, but they serve different needs and involve varying levels of care. Here’s a breakdown of the differences:
-
Intensity and Duration:
- IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program): This program provides a structured treatment schedule, typically involving several sessions per week (e.g., 3-5 days) but allows patients to live at home and maintain daily responsibilities. Each session might last 2-4 hours.
- PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program): PHP is more intensive than IOP, offering a higher level of care. It usually involves full-day sessions, 5-7 days a week, where clients spend most of the day at the treatment center and return home in the evenings.
-
Level of Care:
- IOP: Suitable for individuals who need more support than standard outpatient therapy but do not require 24-hour supervision. It’s often used as a step-down from PHP or residential treatment, or as a primary treatment for those with moderate addiction issues.
- PHP: Ideal for individuals who need a higher level of care and supervision than what IOP provides. PHP is often used for clients transitioning from inpatient treatment or those who need more intensive support due to severe addiction or co-occurring mental health conditions.
-
Treatment Focus:
- IOP: Focuses on providing a flexible but structured therapeutic environment. It includes group therapy, individual counseling, and skill-building activities, but clients return home each night.
- PHP: Provides comprehensive treatment with a focus on intensive therapy, including individual, group, and sometimes family therapy, as well as medical and psychiatric support. Clients engage in treatment throughout the day, which offers a higher level of medical oversight and support.
